Describing a band by referencing other bands may not be the best or most flattering review but in the case of Active Child's debut album, there are quite a few high profile influences. With vocal effects akin to the Knife, Bon Iver and Kate Bush one may get an idea of the 80s influenced, contemporary sounds of Active Child. There is even a guest spot by How to Dress Well's Tom Krell, whos brand of "R&B" crooning lends itself well to the album.s general dramatic and atmospheric ambiance. For a debut, "You Are All I See" is a very developed idea with a clear idea of the band's direction.
